In Seattle, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson promoted Patreese Martin to principal, David Miller to associate principal, Nick Hons to senior associate, and Huyen Hoang and Garrett Reynolds to associate. Martin is an architect who advocates for change and the betterment of the practice through her firm-wide stewardship of the 2030 Commitment. Her portfolio includes Everlane's new retail stores, Expedia's Seattle campus, Independence Pass Residence in Aspen and the Weyerhaeuser Center for Health Sciences at the University of Puget Sound.

Miller has worked on a range of project types and scales. Projects he has contributed to include the Grand Teton Visitor Center, Whistler Residence, and Ae'o, a mixed-use residential tower in Honolulu. Hons, an architect, has contributed to projects — from houses (Council Crest Residence in Portland) to large, complex civic, commercial and corporate projects (Fire Station 32 in Seattle and Nu Skin Innovation Center in Provo, Utah). Hoang is a project manager who has been on the design team for Everlane, working on several of the digital retailer's brick-and-mortar stores. Reynolds, an architect, has worked on projects that include a sustainability tree house in rural West Virginia, an urban mixed-use project in Portland, and a custom home on California's coastline.

In Seattle, Hart Crowser hired Eamaan Tabatabai and Jason Sved as geotechnical engineers and Joe Dapcevich as a field geologist. In Portland, the firm hired Della Graham as a geologist and resilience specialist and Luke Kevan as a geotechnical engineer. In Wailuku, Hawaii, it hired Natalie Rothman as an environmental scientist. Tabatabai has worked on building development projects for Amazon, the University of Washington, Bellevue College and The Wolff Co. Other clients include cities and utility districts. Sved has done field work and project management for food processing plants, telecommunication towers, churches, fire stations, elementary and high schools, sports facilities, highways, bridges, levees, trucking facilities, utility installations and health care buildings. Dapcevich has experience with construction sites, geological investigations, landslides and sinkholes, habitat restoration and lab testing.

Graham has 12 years of experience, managing projects involving environmental investigation and remediation, hazardous materials, stormwater, air emissions and disaster resilience. She is the resilience and community preparedness coordinator for Columbia County Emergency Management, working to strengthen the county's resiliency through outreach and education. Kevan has worked on projects involving deep building foundations, seismic hazard, retaining walls and slope stability. His clients have included the Oregon Department of Transportation, Washington State Department of Transportation, Portland Bureau of Transportation, and counties and municipalities. Rothman has a background in habitat vulnerability, restoration ecology and sustainability. She is experienced in environmental education and will support the county of Maui's MS4 Storm Water Program, and wetland and ecosystem projects. Hart Crowser provides geotechnical engineering, environmental science and engineering, stormwater services and resilience engineering.

Sazan Environmental Services added Dan Tedrow as a principal in its Portland office. Tedrow has 12 years of experience in the built environment with a focus on project management, owner's representation and facility asset management. The firm helps optimize building design and performance through third-party review services and sustainability consulting.

Clearwater Analytics

Barkley

Boise, Idaho-based Clearwater Analytics hired Warren Barkley as chief technology officer. Barkley was general manager of the AWS Machine Learning Group at Amazon. Prior to that, he was general manager for business AI at Microsoft and CTO at Smart Technologies. He also holds over 60 worldwide patents in networking, wireless, communications and machine learning. James Price, Clearwater's former CTO, is now chief quality officer. Clearwater provides automated investment accounting and reporting for banks, insurance companies and other entities.

UW Continuum College

University of Washington Continuum College joined InStride's network of academic institutions. Through this partnership, Los Angeles-based InStride will connect its national and international corporate partners and their employees to UW Continuum College's online programs and courses.

LifeStance Health

In Bellevue, LifeStance Health brought on TPG Capital as an investor along with existing investors Summit Partners and Silversmith Capital Partners. The investors will provide capital to help LifeStance expand its outpatient behavioral health services across the U.S., both in-person and through telemedicine. The company has about 2,000 behavioral health clinicians in 200 offices and 15 states. TPG has offices around the world, with its closest in San Francisco. One of its focus areas is in health care.

MDU Resources Group

Bismarck, North Dakota-based MDU Resources Group is donating $500,000 to a number of organizations to support coronavirus relief efforts, including $24,500 to charities in Washington state, where its companies include Cascade Natural Gas, International Line Builders, Knife River Corp. and OEG. Some of the organizations receiving relief funds from MDU include the Bellingham Food Bank, Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties, Meals on Wheels in Richland and St. Vincent de Paul in Longview.

Auburn Mechanical hired Doug Schumacher as executive vice president of construction. Schumacher has over 25 years of experience in design-build, construction and development, with a focus on business unit growth and performance enhancement over a diverse mix of projects. At Auburn Mechanical, he is overseeing project management, engineering, field operations, detailing and safety. The Auburn-based contractor specializes in design-build, full-mechanical construction.

Karen Lee and Medrice Coluccio are the newest board members at Lease Crutcher Lewis. Lee is CEO of Pioneer Human Services, a nonprofit providing job training for disenfranchised citizens, with ties to aerospace firm Pioneer Industries. In the past, she served in the Army and was on former Gov. Christine Gregoire's cabinet. Coluccio has decades of experience leading major health care organizations, and was CEO of Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia from 2009 until her retirement last year. She currently is a board trustee at Saint Martin's University in Lacey.

Pacific Northwest CMAA

The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Construction Management Association of America is seeking nominations for its annual Construction Management Project Achievement Awards. The deadline for submission is May 29 and awards will be presented June 18 as part of the chapter's Annual Scholarship and Project Achievement Award Dinner at Ivar's Salmon House. Arcimoto

Eugene, Oregon-based Arcimoto appointed Nancy Calderon to its board. Calderon is a CPA with over 30 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to her retirement last September, she was global lead partner at KPMG. For Arcimoto's board, Calderon was appointed to the compensation committee, the nominating and governance committee, and chairs the audit committee. Arcimoto makes small electric vehicles for commuters and fleets.

Smart Foodservice

Rosemont, Illinois-based US Foods Holding Corp. completed its acquisition of Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores for $970 million in cash. Portland-based Smart Foodservice operates 70 small-format cash-and-carry stores across California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Montana that serve small and midsized restaurants and other food businesses. The deal excluded Smart & Final retail grocery stores.

T-Mobile

Bellevue-based T-Mobile announced a long-term contract with Portland-based Avangrid Renewables for energy from the Otter Creek Wind Farm in Illinois and a purchase of national renewable energy credits. The 158-megawatt wind farm began operating last month. T-Mobile has a goal to use 100% renewable energy.

CRN Magazine named Auburn-based IT solutions provider Zones to its 2020 Tech Elite 250 list. The annual list acknowledges the top tier of North American IT solution providers that have earned the highest number of advanced technical certifications.
