Oak View Group/NHL Seattle

Oak View Group and Seattle Hockey Partners (NHL Seattle) appointed Hewan Teshome as senior vice president and general counsel to the team at the new Seattle Center arena. The companies also hired Kevin Melsby as director of arena operations, Denise Russell as director of finance and Jessica Sloate as office manager and executive assistant. Teshome was vice president and general counsel for three years at Vicis, a Seattle-based company that engineers protective sports headgear. Melsby and Russell come from Olympia Entertainment, where Melsby was director of event operations and Russell was director of finance, both at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. NHL Seattle's inaugural season begins next year.

Buchalter

Los Angeles-based Buchalter added four attorneys to its Seattle office: Harold E. Snow Jr., John B. Crosetto, Scott G. Warner and Paul M. Barba. All come from Foster Garvey PC. Snow is a shareholder and a member of Buchalter's corporate practice, as well as the tax, benefits and estate planning practice. He has over 40 years of experience, including an extensive estate planning background. Crosetto is a member of the intellectual property and litigation practice groups. He represents clients in matters involving trademark, trade secret, trade dress, false advertising and unfair competition. Warner also is working in the intellectual property practice. He helps start-ups, nonprofits and public companies register, protect or sell their intellectual property. Barba is a member of the tax, benefits and estate planning practice. He focuses on international tax, cross‐border investments and reorganizations, trusts, estate planning, expatriations and IRS disputes.

PointCentral

Portland-based PointCentral bought Doorport of New York City. PointCentral, an Alarm.com company, has a cellphone-based platform that monitors and controls rental properties. Doorport developed a smartphone app that interacts with intercoms to let residents, managers and visitors unlock building entrances. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

T-Mobile

Bellevue-based T-Mobile teamed with iHeartMedia, Verizon and AT&T to donate nearly 40,000 phone chargers to hospitals nationwide so that isolated COVID-19 patients can stay connected to family. The group has already supplied 20,000 chargers to hospitals in Seattle, New York City, Los Angeles, New Orleans and San Diego.

In Seattle, Walsh Construction Co. promoted Adam Parga to assistant superintendent; Jeremiah Phillips and Fik Mulugeta to project managers; Anthony Sherman to superintendent; and Tyler Wilson to estimator. Parga joined Walsh in 2018 as a project engineer after serving as a facilities services director in the Coast Guard's Civil Engineering Unit. Phillips joined the company in 2014 as a project engineer and later became assistant superintendent and assistant project manager. Mulugeta has been with Walsh since 2013 — initially as a project engineer, then project engineer II and assistant project manager. Sherman joined the company in 2014 as a project engineer and transitioned into assistant superintendent. Wilson began at Walsh in 1991 as a framer and rejoined in 2007 as a superintendent.

RC Cost Group

Cassady

Tacoma-based construction cost planning and management services firm RC Cost Group hired Dan Cassady as senior associate. Cassady has nearly 30 years of preconstruction consulting experience in the Pacific Northwest, and has estimated and reviewed over 1,000 K-12 school projects.

Holmberg Mechanical

Goetz

Bellevue-based Holmberg Mechanical added Jason Goetz as director of project management. Goetz has 16 years of general contracting experience, with expertise in project management. Holmberg provides engineering and mechanical contracting services in the Puget Sound region.

Toth Construction

Seattle-based Toth Construction has raised about $30,000 from the construction community to fund the Summer Search program, which matches students in low-income areas with trained mentors.
