In Los Angeles, PCL Construction promoted Cathy Orquiola to regional vice president, now overseeing operations in Seattle and Hawaii along with California. Orquiola began her 26-year construction career as a project engineer, progressing through the field to senior project manager before moving into executive leadership. In 2015, she rejoined PCL as director of corporate development in Denver and was promoted in 2017 to district manager of the California Buildings office in Los Angeles. The following year, she become vice president. In her new position, Orquiola also became a board member of PCL.
Woodinville-based Synergy Contractors Group, a wood-framing company, has expanded into prefabricated wall panels, stairs and floor systems. Synergy says the systems can be installed by third parties or as a turnkey package by Synergy. Synergy is a state and federally recognized minority business founded by Joshua C. Schaaf, a member of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe in Minnesota. Schaaf has over 20 years of experience in rough carpentry, specializing in types 3 and 5 construction.
Chambers Bay Construction launched Chambers Bay Roofing, a new division of the general contractor based in University Place. A company news release says the decision came after several years of observing poor quality roofing jobs in the Tacoma area, with many roofers not assessing the condition of a roof's foundation. Mark Carter II is the founder and CEO of Chambers Bay Construction.

Sidney Tribe has been elected shareholder at the Seattle law firm Carney Badley Spellman. Her practice is primarily civil appeals in both state and federal courts, which has been her focus for the last twelve years. She has litigated more than 130 appellate cases, including more than 60 as lead counsel. Before entering private practice, Tribe was a law clerk for the Honorable William Baker at Division One of the Washington State Court of Appeals.
Seattle-based ExtraHop announced Inc. Magazine has listed ExtraHop on its annual list of Best Workplaces for the second consecutive year. Inc. Magazine received thousands of applications and developed a list of 429 organizations, who elevate company culture and employee experience, whether in the office or at home. Each nominated company took part in a third-party employee survey on topics including trust, management effectiveness, and benefits, which Inc. Magazine then gathered, analyzed, and audited to determine its 2021 honorees. ExtraHop is a provider of cloud-native network detection and response with 30 recent industry awards including Forbes AI 50, Cybercrime Ransomware 25, and SC Media Security Innovator.
Amazon is hiring 75,000 people in its fulfillment and logistics network across the U.S. and Canada. Amazon recently announced pay increases across its fulfillment and transportation networks, and these open roles offer an average starting pay of over $17 per hour, plus sign-on bonuses in many locations of up to $1,000. POSaBIT Systems has appointed Matthew Fowler as chief financial officer of POSaBIT. As CFO, Fowler will be responsible for oversight and management of finance, legal, human resources, and operations. Fowler was most recently senior vice president of finance and accounting at AuthenticID, where he directed the finance, accounting, and reporting of a rapidly growing fraud prevention and identity verification SaaS platform. Prior to that, he was vice president of finance and reporting at Phytelligence, and director and corporate controller in charge of accounting and reporting for Rhapsody International, an international streaming music company. POSaBIT is a financial technology company that delivers blockchain-enabled payment processing and point-of-sale systems for cash-only businesses.

Edifecs, a global health information technology company, added four executives to accelerate growth across multiple functions of the business. Dan Madden joins as chief financial officer, Lisa Anastos as general counsel, Sundar Shenbagam as senior vice president of engineering, and Scott Davis as associate vice president of product marketing and demand generation. Madden most recently was executive vice president and CFO for Ellie Mae, a cloud-based platform provider for the mortgage finance industry. Anastos has over 20 years of legal expertise advising Fortune 100 companies and industry leaders in financial services, health care and technology. Prior to joining Edifecs, she was the general counsel of Prove, Acoustic and Falconhead Capital. Shenbagam joins Edifecs from Oracle, where he spent 24 years building multiple enterprise products and cloud services. Davis most recently was head of marketing for MedeAnalytics, a health care enterprise analytics software-as-a-service provider. Edifecs recently received several awards, including Modern Healthcare's Best Places to Work in Healthcare, Puget Sound Business Journal's Fastest-Growing Private Companies, and Best in Biz Awards' Gold winner in the Best Place to Work category. The company is headquartered in Bellevue, with additional offices in Atlanta and Mohali, India, and an engineering center in Moldova.
Global launch services provider Spaceflight announced it will be launching 36 customer payloads to sun synchronous orbit aboard the SpaceX Transporter-2 mission, scheduled to launch no earlier than June. The company purchased three ports on the mission, dubbed ‘SXRS-5' by Spaceflight, and is managing the launch integration and mission management services for the 36 payloads, including six microsatellites, 29 cubesats and one hosted payload. The mission also represents the first time the company will fly two different orbital transportation vehicles and the launch of the industry's first-ever electric propulsion vehicle, Sherpa-LTE1. Spaceflight is managing the launch for 14 organizations' spacecraft from seven countries. Based in Seattle, Spaceflight has successfully launched hundreds of satellites and is part of the Mitsui & Co. portfolio, operating as an independent U.S.-based company.
Alaska Communications will participate in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, which will help households struggling financially during the pandemic. The Federal Communications Commission recently established the program using COVID-19 relief funds. It will give eligible Alaska households a discount on broadband service of up to $75 a month. As a participating provider, the company will receive reimbursement for delivering broadband to eligible households. A household is eligible if one member qualifies for the Lifeline program, receives government assistance such as free and reduce-priced school lunch or a Pell Grant, or has experienced a substantial loss of income due to the pandemic.
