BNY Mellon Wealth Management named Justin Williams as senior client strategist. He works with ultra-high-net-worth families, business corporate executives, private equity and hedge fund principals and their family offices, as well as foundations and endowments on their comprehensive wealth needs. Williams is based in Seattle and reports to Bo Lee, market president, Pacific Northwest. Williams joins BNY Mellon Wealth Management from Wells Fargo, where he served as a wealth advisor, senior vice president. He provided custom, comprehensive wealth plans to high-net-worth clients to help them achieve their wealth goals. Prior to that, he held various senior leadership roles at Key Private Bank, including senior relationship manager, senior vice president. He also worked as a financial relationship manager at Bank of America. He is a Certified Wealth Strategist professional.

T-Mobile

Lucid Drone Technologies has chosen T-Mobile to be the exclusive provider of IoT connectivity and management for their fleet of industrial spraying drones. Together, Lucid Drone Technologies and T-Mobile are collaborating to put maintenance teams and exterior cleaning companies out of harm's way using drone technology for high-risk facilities maintenance work like exterior soft-wash cleaning and high-rise window washing. The next generation of Lucid Drone Technologies industrial spraying drones can perform exterior washing for commercial building surfaces and windows, including outdoor stadiums and arenas, hotels, and university structures. T-Mobile's network powers critical capabilities for Lucid Drone Technologies industrial spraying drones such as real-time sharing of flight data, battery utilization information, hardware diagnostics, and delivery of firmware and software updates. Additionally, T-Mobile Control Center will give Lucid Drone Technologies the ability to view and manage the connectivity of their industrial spraying drones. Initially, T-Mobile for Business will deliver 4G LTE connectivity to Lucid Drone Technologies industrial spraying drones, providing a reliable connection nationwide. Lucid Drone Technologies expects to utilize T-Mobile's 5G network in the near future for advanced use cases such as network operations center access, live streaming video and remote piloting. Lucid Drone Technologies is a Charlotte, NC-based robotics company that currently designs and builds industrial spraying drones for labor-intensive jobs.

Students got a quick lesson on electrical panels at last week’s Sound Transit jobsite tour led by Skanska.

A team from Skanska USA led local students on a tour last week of the Sound Transit L-300 light rail jobsite in Lynnwood. The students toured the garage being built at the Lynnwood City Center station jobsite, and got up onto the station and rail line itself. This was Skanska's third “Youth in Construction” event, which is part of a program it runs with the Office of African American Male Achievement at Seattle Public Schools. A key element to the program is the “Passport Project,” which aims to showcase the breadth of careers available within the industry, such as tradespeople, engineers, BIM technicians, financial managers and marketers.

Transblue

Transblue, a Seattle-area general contractor, appointed Brett Estok as vice president of business development. Estok is leading Transblue's expansion strategy to enhance its national presence, opening new doors for its business and franchise owners. Estok is prioritizing national projects, including electrical vehicle charging, snow removal services, and property upgrades such as asphalt and roofing projects. He has nearly 10 years of sales and business management experience, most recently in the facility maintenance space. Transblue is a construction management and maintenance firm specializing in residential, commercial, government and multifamily properties.

AGC of Washington Education Foundation

The Associated General Contractors of America last month presented the AGC of Washington Education Foundation with the $7,000 grand prize of the AGC Innovation Awards. The awards program recognizes members of the construction industry that craft innovative solutions to pressing industry challenges. The Education Foundation was cited for its Core Plus Construction program, which introduces students and educators to construction careers as a way to overcome labor shortages in the industry. The program allows high school students to explore construction careers through construction trades classes that provide credit equivalencies for third year math, science, and English language arts and industry certification.

Harbor Freight Tools

California-based Harbor Freight Tools is offering $1.25 million this year in its Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence contest. Harbor Freight plans to honor 20 outstanding public high school skilled trades teachers this year. Five grand prize winners will each get $100,000 and 15 others will get $50,000 each. Teachers can submit applications until May 20 to hftforschoolsprize.org. Finalists will be announced on June 27 and winners in October.

Stoic

Stouffer

Seattle-based Stoic announced Trisha Stouffer has been appointed CEO and president of the company. An experienced business leader, Stouffer succeeded John Watson as CEO. Watson will continue in his role as chief technical officer. Prior to Stoic, Stouffer served in key roles at Amazon, IMDb, Twitch, Riot Games, Microsoft Game Studios, and Xbox. She served as chief operating officer and executive producer at Stoic for the past two years. Founded in 2012, Stoic is a creator of games and entertainment.

Washington Health Benefit Exchange

The Washington Health Benefit Exchange board unanimously named current chief financial officer Jim Crawford as interim CEO, effective June 10, when current CEO Pam MacEwan retires. During his more than two decades of public service, Crawford has held several senior level positions in state and local government. This includes managing the public finance and state budgeting process as assistant director of the Budget Division of the Office of Financial Management. He also served as senior budget assistant to the governor, and worked as assistant superintendent for fiscal and operations of the Olympia School District. As a next step, the Health Benefit Exchange board will conduct a search for a permanent CEO, which is expected to take six months.

Seattle Credit Union

Seattle Credit Union is partnering with Tacoma Housing Authority and the Salishan Association for an upcoming expansion to Tacoma this summer. The credit union's mission is to provide financial support and opportunities for communities that are underserved and have been systemically discriminated against. Seattle Credit Union will occupy a space at Salishan Family Investment Center, at 1720 E. 44th St., in a community center that serves East Tacoma. Seattle Credit Union's physical presence in the building will include a hub (similar to a branch office) with regular banking hours and a 24-hour ATM. This location will be staffed by employees who can open accounts, answer questions and provide financial counseling to community members. The credit union will also have a regular presence in the surrounding neighborhood and will provide support for local organizations and events.

City of Tacoma

Tacoma's Office of Environmental Policy and Sustainability is leading an effort to better understand air quality issues and inequities in the city. The city is teaming up with Tacoma Public Schools, University of Washington Tacoma, Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and Microsoft Research Tacoma on the program. Tacoma was identified by the Microsoft Research “Project Eclipse” team as an ideal location to test prototype air sensors because of the potential for measurable observations that can be compared to Tacoma's Equity Index. Phase I sensors were recently installed outdoors at 10 public schools in Tacoma. The city plans to use data gathered from these sensors to prioritize infrastructure funding and program efforts to address climate change — such as mitigating heat islands, assessing the impacts of heat and smoke events, and identifying tree planting priorities.
