Oki adds two more golf courses

BELLEVUE - Former Microsoft executive Scott Oki's Oki Developments Inc. bought two Thurston County golf courses, bringing Oki Development's collection to six area courses.

Oki bought the Meriwood and Vicwood courses, both at the large subdivision in Lacey called Meridian Campus. Oki Developments, which made the purchases under the name of Hawks Priarie LLC., declined to disclose the price paid to the subdivision's developers, Vicwood Meridian Partnership.

Both courses are public. Meriwood, designed by Bill Overdorf, opened in 1995. Vicwood Golf Links, designed by Peter L.H. Thompson, opened in 1999.

Golf Resources Northwest will manage the operations.

Oki Developments' other courses are Indian Summer, Echo Falls, Newcastle and The Plateau Club. The company's investments also include a professional soccer team, a restaurant, real estate and start-up tech companies.

Scott Oki retired from Microsoft as a 42-year-old senior vice president for sales in 1992.
