EOP and Civia Media Group

Equity Office Properties Trust will place media terminals operated by Fisher Communications' Civia Media Group in 20 EOP office buildings in Seattle and Portland, the two companies said. The locations will serve as test sites for EOP's portfolio of 774 office buildings throughout the country. If EOP likes the results, it would consider placing terminals in more properties, a prospect Civia sought to highlight. The experimental, 8-foot-high terminals display breaking news, property information, city guides and advertising on 42-inch screens. They're both for passive viewing from afar and interactive use up close. Touch-screen buttons allow selecting items of interest. Fisher envisions placing them in airports, shopping malls, office buildings and other public places. They "add color and conversation, turning (lobbies) into true community places," said Civia Vice President Anthony Bontrager.
