Mike Flynn, an agent in John L. Scott's University Place office in Tacoma, was named the Washington Association of Realtors' 2002 Realtor of the year. Flynn serves this year as the 15,000-member association's vice president of government affairs. He has been one of the principal architects of the Quality of Life Project, an advocacy program aimed at building better communities under the state Growth Management Act. He'll also represent the National Association of Realtors at a transportation roundtable hosted by the Urban Land Institute in Washington, D.C. "I’m an issues-driven type of person," Flynn said. "It makes me feel good to know I’m doing my part to help make Washington a better place to live."

John L. Scott Real Estate's West Seattle office added 10 new sales associates: Jack Angus, Cara Copeland, Dave Copeland, Scott Engstrom, Joyce Gunderson, Tracey Hunter, Brian Louderback, Chris Massie, Jan Rooney and Kari Scott. Three started in the Redmond office: Joy Andersen, Curtis Patterson and Bob Ahern. Three more began in Burien: Jirapon Keokitvon, Brad Howell and Melissa Galbavy.
