Seattle-based Merrill Gardens bought an interest in four Seattle-area assisted-living centers for $45 million: two in West Seattle, one in Queen Anne and one in Marysville. Merrill entered a joint venture with developer Stone, Rivard and McGonigle Development of Spokane that gives Merrill an interest in an existing center in West Seattle's Admiral Heights area, another one that's about to open there on 35th Avenue Southwest and one to be developed next year on Fourth Avenue North in Queen Anne. Merrill also bought one in Marysville from Campbell-Hogue & Associates of Bellevue. The deals mean Merrill now has 15 communities in Washington, making it the state's largest provider of senior housing. Merrill, led by President Bill Petit, stands at 66 communities nationwide.
