Wolfgang Rood Hospitality Consulting

Tough times continue for Washington hotel operators, according to a recent report by Wolfgang Rood Hospitality Consulting. The Bellevue company reports the hotel occupancy rate increased only slightly, by 0.4 percent. At the same time, the average daily room rate declined 1.5 percent to $95.09. Downtown Seattle was one bright spot; the occupancy rate was nearly 71 percent, up nearly 3 percent over 2002. Yet the average daily room rate downtown dropped 3.5 percent to just over $125.
