Carolyn Noffsinger, managing director of North American operations for Colliers International, died unexpectedly in Seattle Aug. 4. She was 49.
Today there will be a 2 p.m. reception for friends and family at Sand Point Country Club, 8333 55th Ave. N.E., Seattle.
Noffsinger, who was recovering from a broken leg that she sustained in mid July, died at home of a pulmonary embolism.
She had been with Colliers a little more than five years and was a critical member of the commercial real estate brokerage.
"Everything crossed her desk," said Marisa Clayton, an administrator at the company's Seattle office.
Noffsinger was born Oct. 12, 1954. She graduated from Mercer Island High School, the University of Washington School of Business and the University of Puget Sound, where she obtained a master's degree.
After college she worked in the insurance and software industries.
She was an ardent sports fan, a world traveler and an insatiable reader, consuming several books on a variety of subjects over a weekend. Within the past year, she purchased an older home and had just completed an extensive renovation.
She is survived by her parents, Richard and Greta Noffsinger; siblings, Sandi Wagner, Rich Noffsinger and Rex Noffsinger; and a large extended family.
Remembrances may be made to Ryther Child Center, 2400 N.E. 95th St., Seattle, WA 98115, and Medic One, Seattle Fire Headquarters, 301 Second Ave. S., Seattle, WA 98104.
