The Washington State Housing Finance Commission announced the Friend of Housing award winners at Housing Washington 2004 conference in Bellevue. Winners are loan officer Valerie Felt, Columbia Bank, Longview; Paul Purcell, previously of Catholic Community Services and now of Beacon Development, Seattle; former governor John Spellman; Impact Capital's Tom Lattimore, who grew Local Initiative Support Corp. into a statewide operation; travel writer Rick Steves and Anne Steves, who with Pathways for Women have operated housing units for the homeless; Washington Growers League, which has increased housing for seasonal farm workers; Homeownership Center of Tacoma for revitalizing Hilltop; state Sen. Bill Finkbeiner (R-Kirkland) for passing a bill to improve the condo liability insurance market; and former Snohomish County executive and current Puget Sound Regional Council Executive Director Bob Drewel.
