Cain and Scott Inc. now is Cain Inc. Broker Tom Cain said Cain and Scott Inc. has not been an accurate representation of the company since 1995, when the founders parted ways. It was critical to the brokerage and consulting/appraisal divisions at that time to keep the original name because of the widespread reputation it had as a leader in the apartment industry, said Cain, who added that now the name has outlived its usefulness. "After 27 years, we decided that we were long overdue for a name overhaul. We are now simply Cain Inc."
