The Washington State Housing Finance Commission presented eight Friend of Housing awards to four people, two organizations and one housing project at Housing Washington, the annual state-wide conference on affordable housing. Judy Reed, founder and president of the Seattle-based Washington Community Reinvestment Association, received the Margaret M. Sevy Lifetime Achievement Award. Honored as outstanding people were Nora Gibson of ElderHealth Northwest, Christine Robison of Umpqua Bank, Lisa Byers of OPAL Community Land Trust, Lynn Davison of Common Ground and state Senator Darlene Fairley of the 32nd Legislative District. The organizations that won awards are Spokane Service Team — Educational Service District 101 and Real Change. Friends of Youth and Hopelink were honored for building the Duvall Community Services Center and Family Housing Project.
