Cannon Design hired
Stephen Johnson as a principal. Johnson will assist with expansion of the firm’s international initiatives and strategic marketing of its national higher education practice. With 35 years of experience in design leadership and practice management, Johnson has a portfolio of work in higher education, the arts and historic restoration. He was project director for the renovation and expansion of the Los Angeles Central Library, the recipient of the American Library Association’s Award for Excellence as well as an AIA Honor Award for Urban Design. He led the design and construction effort for the $50 million renovation and expansion of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, which reopened last year.
