Colliers International added Tim McKay and Dan Chhan to the Seattle office as senior vice presidents. They specialize in multifamily investments, and have worked for a combined 13 years in the industry. They were last with Marcus and Millichap where they closed more than $120 million in sales. Colliers has more than 13,500 employees in 62 countries.

Seattle King County Realtors honored 11 brokers and companies this year. Jerry Rippeteau, a managing broker at Windermere Real Estate, was named Realtor of the Year. Barb Schwarz earned the Lifetime Achievement Award for staging homes. Other winners were Michael Goodheim, Commission Express of Western Washington; Thach Nguyen, Michael Orbino, Rachel Adler and Tyler McKenzie of John L. Scott Real Estate; Tina Mitchell, host of the Money Hour on 570 KVI; Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; Val Towler of Seattle King County Realtors; and Tina McDonough of Re/Max Select Real Estate. Seattle King County Realtors has more than 5,000 members and is a local affiliate of the National Association of Realtors.
Lynn Michaelis, senior economist and president of Strategic Economic Analysis, will give his 2014 outlook as part of NAIOP's South Sound Economic Forecast at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 23 in the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center at 1500 Broadway. Brokers from Andover Co./Corfac International have made five big sales in the last 90 days. Jeff Crane represented the seller of the Harrison Building, an 18,220-square-foot industrial building in Kent that sold for $1.8 million. Arne Svendsen represented the buyer of Bon Vista Apartments, a 15,000-square-foot building in Greenwood that is set to close early next year. Mike Hemphill represented the seller of a 7,800-square-foot office building in Kent that sold for $1.2 million. Dave Dunn represented Carpinito Farms LLC in buying 489 acres in Stevens County for $750,000. Jeff Crane represented the buyer of 3.15 acres of land in Kent that sold for $2.3 million. Andover Co./Corfac was established in 1978 and has 15 brokers who specialize in industrial, office and land in south King and Pierce counties.

Bobblehead designer and distributor Funko is moving to Everett and will more than triple the size of its headquarters. Funko will take 200,500 square feet at 1202 Shuksan Way in March. Daniel Seger and Brent Jackson of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Funko. The company was operating out of a 62,000-square-foot space. Funko was founded in 1998, and designs, imports and markets pop culture collectibles.
CBRE Group Inc. said it bought The CAC Group, a San Francisco-based commercial real estate services firm with an office in Seattle. CAC has 130 employees and is the agent for more than 18 million square feet of office space. It manages another 11 million square feet in Seattle, Bellevue, San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. In Seattle, CAC manages more than 3 million square feet of office space, including Columbia Center. CBRE has 37,000 employees in 300 offices around the world.
The Building Owners and Managers Association in Seattle last week gave out the annual Golden Dumpster awards for buildings that focus on waste reduction, recycling and tenant education. Here are the winners for each category: Under 200,000 square feet: World Trade Center North, Adobe Waterfront Building, and 625 Union Station; 200,000 to 500,000 square feet: 605 Union Station; more than 500,000 square feet: Bank of America Fifth Avenue Plaza. CleanScapes and Seattle Public Utilities are partners in the awards.
Associa's EMB Management, which provides services to homeowner associations and developers, has added five condo and home projects to its portfolio with 742 units. They are: Peaceful Valley Country Club in Maple Valley, Waterview condos in Kirkland, Finnegan Way condos in Bellingham, Alpine Fairway Villa in Mount Vernon and Summerwind in Renton. Dallas-based Associa says it is North America's largest homeowner association management firm, with 8,000 employees and more than 150 offices in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
