Riverpark, a 6-acre mixed-use project in downtown Redmond, has officially opened. The $200 million complex was developed by Legacy Partners of Foster City, Calif., and is at the intersection of Redmond Way and Bear Creek Parkway, on the site of a former business park.
The six buildings house 319 apartments, a 144-room hotel, a 106,000-square-foot office building anchored by Group Health, street-level retail and parking for 750 vehicles.
The city recently created a new road extension — Bear Creek Parkway — that connects Riverpark to Redmond Town Center and other downtown streets.
Tiscareno Associates was master planner and architect of the garage and retail. EDI Architecture was architect of record for the housing and Johnston Architects was design architect for the housing. Callison designed the office building.
The apartments in Legacy at Riverpark are designed to be similar to an urban boutique hotel, with high ceilings in the lobbies and colorful amenity rooms. The Web site Forrent.com lists apartments there renting for between $917 and $2,576 a month.
The site includes waterways and an amphitheater-style plaza that overlooks the park for concerts and festivals. Legacy Partners Residential Development was overall site development manager, Legacy Partners Builders was residential general contractor and Howard S. Wright Constructors was site, garage, retail and office general contractor. ABKJ was structural engineer, KPFF Consulting Engineers was civil engineer, Hewitt Architects was landscape architect and Robin Chell Designs was interior designer.
