The NAIOP Sustainability Development Committee is holding a meeting Jan. 21 to discuss how natural disasters, specifically flooding and the associated updated flood maps, affect the Green and Puyallup river valleys. The updated flood maps have a significant impact on the commercial real estate market. The event will look at changes being proposed, flood insurance, and implications for property values and development. The panel will include John Graves of FEMA, Grant Degginger of Cascade Water Alliance, Molly Lawrence of GordonDerr and John Pietromonaco of Hill-Raaum-Pietromonaco. It will run from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the The Miller/Hull Partnership offices, 71 Columbia St. The event is free but reservations are required. Go to www/naiop.wa.org.
