The Seattle Mortgage Bankers Association will hold its Economic Day on Jan. 19 with two events: a luncheon and a dinner meeting. The lunch is at the Washington Athletic Club and the speaker is economist John Mitchell, who will talk about how the national and regional economies will influence commercial real estate. It starts at 11:30 a.m. and costs $45. The dinner meeting is at Broadmoor and the speaker is Dr. Stephen K. Kappel of Arizona State University on how the last election will affect the banking industry, new regulations banks may face and the impact of Gen Y on the industry.
