Milestone Properties
Rhoda L. Altom, president of Milestone Properties, was awarded the Washington State University Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award for her professional and philanthropic work. She was first woman to graduate from WSU's construction management program, and joined Wright Runstad & Co. Altom later founded Milestone, which oversees a portfolio of properties across the country. After her daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor, Altom founded the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund. She established the Pediatric Epilepsy Foundation at the University of Washington after her son was diagnosed with epilepsy. She also has done philanthropic work for the YWCA, Northwest School, Cornish College of the Arts and Health Team Northwest. She and her husband,
Cory Carlson, established the Altom+Carlson Foundation to support various organizations.
