Washington Housing Finance Commission

The Washington Housing Finance Commission and federal agencies announced a pilot program to reduce duplicate inspections of federally subsidized housing in Washington and five other states. The program will be launched Tuesday. Developers and owners often work with different federal agencies to house the lowest-income tenants, and this means extra inspections. In an average year, agencies in the six states conduct about 24,000 inspections at 11,000 properties. The pilot program is expected to eliminate up to 13,000 inspections.
