Artemis Hotel Group of Hong Kong just opened a $45 million hotel called Four Points by Sheraton in Des Moines at the https://goo.gl/maps/eum7GytESsP2" target="_blank">southeast corner of South 224th Street and Pacific Highway South.

The seven-story, art-deco-style hotel was designed by Belay Architecture and built by Absher Construction Co.

It has 225 guest rooms, including six penthouse suites, as well as a restaurant, lounge, pool, fitness center and 6,000-square-foot conference area.

Artemis Hotel Group acquired the land for $2.08 million in 2009.

Other team members include PCS Structural Solutions, structural design; Tres West Engineers, mechanical-electrical-plumbing design; BergerABAM, civil design; Ground Support, shoring design; and Albert Sze, owner's representative.

This Four Points by Sheraton is the third to open in Washington. Others are in Bellingham and Seattle. Starwood owns the brand, and has plans to expand the portfolio by nearly 60 percent in the next five years, including 20 more in the United States.

There are 322 existing and planned Four Points hotels around the world today.

(Editor's note: The headline was changed to clarify that this is a new hotel, not a renovation. )
