Set to celebrate its 25 anniversary next year, the nonprofit facilitator of affordable housing is also seeking four new board members. They will be elected at Homestead's annual meeting (5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, 4408 Delridge Way S.W.) Active in Delridge, Columbia City and other neighborhoods, Homestead counsels about 300 prospective homebuyers a year, provides grants and loans, develops new homes with private partners and preserves affordable housing stock by keeping them in a restricted trust. That trust now includes 211 homes, which can only be resold to buyers at or below 80 perent of area median income; Homestead maintains ownership of the land. Potential board members can find more information athomesteadclt.org.
