Indeed takes 10 floors in Skanska's 2+U tower

The online job-search engine Indeed will lease 200,000 square feet in 2+U, the 38-story office tower under construction by Skanska USA Commercial Development in downtown Seattle.

Skanska, 2+U's developer and general contractor, made the announcement Tuesday.

Indeed is the first major tenant for the tower, which is slated to finish in 2019.

The project takes up most of the block bounded by First and Second avenues and University and Seneca streets.

“Indeed is exactly the type of tenant we imagined would make the most of what 2+U offers, from the urban retail village to the outstanding views,” said Skanska Executive Vice President Murphy McCullough in a statement.

Indeed will take 10 contiguous floors in the 686,000-square-foot tower, which sits above a retail base with shops, plazas, bars and restaurants.

Pickard Chilton is the design architect. Other team members include Kendall/Heaton Associates, architect of record; Graham Baba Architects, retail designer; Swift Co., landscape architect; and Magnusson Klemencic Associates, structural engineer.
