Skanska lands Spaces for 2+U

SEATTLE — Skanska USA Commercial Development announced on Wednesday it has landed a second big tenant for its 2+U tower under construction at 1201 Second Ave.

Spaces, a co-working brand owned by IWG, signed a 12.5-year lease for approximately 91,000 square feet on three contiguous floors.

The firm plans to take occupancy in the third quarter of 2019.

With the Spaces lease, the office portion of the 38-story 2+U is now 42 percent leased, with about a year to go before completion.

Skanska is the developer and general contractor for the tower. John Hansen of CBRE and Jesse Otelle of Newmark Knight Frank represented Skanska in the lease transaction, and Matt Walters at CBRE represented Spaces.

Skanska announced earlier this week that the job-search firm Indeed would take 200,000 square feet in the 686,000-square-foot tower.
