The owners of the Showbox, at 1426 First Ave., received a favorable ruling in King County Superior Court on Friday regarding the city's effort to include it in a temporary expansion of the Pike Place Market Historical District.
The Showbox owners had appealed that six-month expansion, which followed a prior 12-month expansion. Both had complicated efforts by Canadian developer Onni Group to develop a 44-story, 442-unit residential tower on the site. Onni would presumably buy the property, plus a neighboring parking lot, if and when permits are issued.
