Longtime Capitol Hill grocery store may be replaced by apartments

On the slope up East Olive Way, on the corner at 1722 Bellevue Ave., are the companion businesses City Market and Crystal Clean Laundry. Those century-old, one-story buildings occupy a 15,200-square-foot property that's not listed for sale. It's been owned by the Gietzen family since 1988, when it traded for $600,000.

Now, for an unknown prospective buyer, Barrientos Ryan and architect Caron have filed an apartment redevelopment plan.
