Confirming rumors from last fall, a plan has been filed to redevelop the 22-year-old Safeway at 1410 E. John St. on Capitol Hill. Weber Thompson filed the seven-story apartment plan, with a new grocery, on behalf of three parties.
They are: Greystar, the large national multifamily developer; Fields Holdings of Los Angeles, which is planning to redevelop the University District Safeway in a similar scheme; and Pine View Development, which appears to work with Fields on multifamily projects in California and Nevada.
