In its 110 years, the corner building has transitioned from cars to coffee and pottery. Now Hunters Capital is planning an eight-story mixed-use building there.

The family behind landscape design/build firm Ragen & Associates paid about $1.7 million in 2001 for the two-story building at 517 E. Pike St. on Capitol Hill. The yellowish concrete building, at Belmont Avenue, is probably most identified with Kaladi Brothers Coffee. Ragen has its offices and showroom above, plus an outdoor loading and plant storage area.
