Unico to flip Colman Building to apartments

In this perspective, looking northwest, the new penthouse would be most visible to those walking down Columbia or Marion streets. Passersby on First probably wouldn’t notice.

Back in June, Unico Properties and architect BuildingWork filed an early but vague renovation/addition plan for the landmarked Colman Building, at 801 First Ave. Few details were then offered for a project valued at $55 million — other than a new penthouse, general renovations and seismic retrofit.
