Demo on Eastlake lays way for 207-unit Liza apartments

By BRIAN MILLER
Real Estate Editor

Rendering by Hewitt [enlarge]
Looking Northwest, parking will be accessed from the dead end of Louisa (left), with commercial space on the corner.

Crews from Ascent Demolition are now removing the old Mammoth deli-anchored commercial complex at 2517 Eastlake Ave. E., and the SPRAG building next door. All permits are in place for the planned replacement: a seven-story, 207-unit apartment building, designed by Hewitt. The project, dubbed Liza, will go on the corner of East Louisa Street — opposite Rogers Playground.
