Amazon helps Bellwether buy 135 Kent units for over $28M

  • The BLVD will add to Bellwether's current portfolio of about 2,100 affordable units.

    An older, 135-unit Kent apartment complex at 2136 S. 272nd St. sold last week for nearly $28.2 million, according to King County records.

    The buyer was an LLC associated with the local nonprofit Bellwether Housing. Public records indicate a $13 million loan from Citibank. A nearly $15.6 million loan also came from Amazon's $2 billion national Housing Equity Fund, which the company launched in January.
