SEATTLE — As planned, Africatown has bought the shuttered former Keiro Rehabilitation and Care Center at 1601 E. Yesler Way. The nonprofit plans to convert the old facility into a 125-bed shelter for homeless men, with supportive services.
King County recorded the over $13.8 million sale earlier this week. The seller was Yesler QOZB LLC, associated with Shelter Holdings, which acquired the full block property in 2019 for $11 million. With Weinstein AU, it had planned a five-story, 285-unit apartment project, which is now dead.
