Carmel Partners plans 298 Capitol Hill units on growing assemblage

Does it look like a hair dryer? Handgun? Movie camera? A broken letter T? You make the call.

On the block north of Cal Anderson Park, just steps east from Capitol Hill Station, may be the oddest gerrymander of a land assemblage in recent memory. Carmel Partners just paid $3.5 million for the south end of a three-legged site, which in outline looks something like a hair dryer. Those two old houses will be demolished.
