Kirkland sued over housing homeless in hotel

The former hotel has 121 rooms, some would be used for offices and on-site staff.

On March 7, the DJC reported that King County had closed on a deal to purchase the former La Quinta Inn & Suites at 10530 Northup Way in Kirkland. The county is planning to turn the property's 100-plus rooms into permanent supportive low-barrier housing for homeless adults. The price was $28.7 million and is part of King County's ongoing Health Through Housing initiative.
