Goodman to convert, not raze, Kent motel

KENT — Goodman Real Estate last year paid $19 million for the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, at 6329 S. 212th St. in Kent. Instead of razing the property and redeveloping the 152-room complex, in over 20 buildings, it will be renovated as apartments.

Studio Meng Strazzara recently filed the renovation plan with the city. The public comment period ends June 10. SEPA review will be required for the 6.5-acre project.
