AvalonBay well above ground on big Bothell project

    Looking roughly east across 120th, the development will combine rental units, townhouses, retail and structured parking.

    Back in 2020, AvalonBay Communities bought a big chunk of The Seattle Times' shuttered North Creek printing plant. That $51 million deal was for some 23 acres at 19200 120th Ave. N.E. The developer was then planning Avalon Bothell Commons with GGLO and Barghausen. The phased plan calls for about 800 apartments, 110 townhouses for the sales market and over 6,000 square feet of retail/commercial space.
