A rare condo project sprouts on Queen Anne

The Fitzgerald site is a relatively short walk to the Queen Anne commercial strip.

New midrise condominiums have been rare since the Great Recession, their development hindered by liability concerns, construction defects and leaky walls and windows. As a result, the bulk of new condominium construction is of the much more costly concrete-and-steel variety, almost all of them high rises in downtown Bellevue and Seattle.
