$35M refi deal for empty former FAA building, now with UW as sole tenant

The full-building lease represents some rare good news for Renton’s anemic office market.

The long-vacant former Federal Aviation Administration building, at 1601 Lind Ave. S.W. in Renton, has finally been filled. Gantry announced this week that all 197,446 square feet will be leased by the University of Washington Medicine Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. The UW had said in January that it would only take the top two of its five floors.
