$35M sale to Alliance clears path for 425 Redmond units

The site is a short walk south to the future Downtown Redmond Station.

Alliance Residential has for over a year been planning to buy the former downtown Redmond post office property, at 16135 N.E. 85th St., and redevelop with a 425-unit apartment project. Now, as planned, Cosmos Development has sold that nearly 2.3-acre site. King County recorded the $35 million deal on Wednesday, with both parties using LLCs in the transaction. Alliance now looks to be partnering with Carlyle Group on its Broadstone Redmond.
