The big pit stays put: Bosa pauses downtown condo tower

Looking south to the King County Courthouse, the pit was very quiet on Friday morning.

In a shocking but unsurprising turn, given recession fears and economic uncertainty, Bosa Development announced on Friday that it was indefinitely suspending work on the full-block condominium tower at 339 Cherry St. Work began in March in the pit where the Public Safety Building was demolished 17 years ago. (Some still call it Civic Square, for the old pre-Bosa plan.)
