Merlone Geier files big plan for Redmond that could top 1K units

Looking northeast, the L-shaped property spans about 6 acres.

Three years back, via an LLC, Merlone Geier Partners paid $41 million for the rather tired old Overlake East shopping center, at 15340 N.E. 24th St. The over 6-acre Bel-Red property is about a 10-minute walk north to Overlake Village Station, where light rail service should begin in 2024. Past or current tenants associated with the property have included restaurants like Jersey Mike's, Mayuri Foods and Macy's Furniture Gallery. That's all to meet the wrecking ball.
