UW and partners plan 240 U District units in 16-story tower

Looking northwest, the tower would be on the corner of 42nd. This handsome rendering is purely conceptual, and no architect has been selected.

What most would call the C. Don Filer building, at 4201 Roosevelt Way N.E., is owned by the University of Washington, along with a parking lot and old triplex to the west. The row, now bound for redevelopment, is directly south of the familiar red-brick UW Medical Center buildings.
