Pepsi is out. Pop is in. Five years ago, with a partner, Security Properties paid $27 million for a roughly 5-acre property in East Portland, then known as the Pepsi Blocks. A lease-back deal followed at 2505 N.E. Pacific St., just south of Highway 30, as architect Mithun took the mixed-use plan through the city permit process. The soda bottler left its old plant in 2020 for a new home, and Security Properties says it has now broken ground. R&H Construction is the builder; construction will likely take two-plus years.
