Sound Transit wants developers for over 4 acres in Kent

  • Hundreds of affordable units are being sought.

    Both blocks would allow midrise construction, with Highline College a few steps away.

    Sound Transit's longstanding goal is to encourage new housing, most of it affordable, on the surplus property it gradually sheds near light rail stations from Everett down to Tacoma, and Seattle over to Redmond. You can already see the resulting apartment buildings near Roosevelt Station, Capitol Hill Station and Othello Station, etc. And more TOD plans are afoot at Northgate Station, the Spring District and Angle Lake.
