Chainqui's 44-story Belltown tower plan is still in design review

Eight years after the land sales at 2005 Fifth Ave., Chainqui Development continues its long slog through design review — and parallel consideration by the city's Landmarks Preservation Board — for a now 44-story Belltown residential tower. Its base will have to incorporate the old Griffin Building and Sheridan Apartments, on the corner of Virginia Street, and preserve their restored facades.
