142 Greenwood units get design OK, as 285-unit companion nears completion

Washington Holdings is developing two apartment buildings on the former Greenwood Safeway corner, at North 87th Street. The second smaller north project, with 142 units, recently received design approval from the city. Skidmore Janette is the architect. That clears the path to a master use permit for the seven-story plan at 8730 Greenwood Ave. N. No start date has been announced for what's variously been called Bonsai or Hemlock Phase II. W.G. Clark will be the general contractor.
