The freestanding corner coffee shop is just visible to the right of the main building.

Demolition of the Nickerson Street Saloon, at 318 Nickerson St., came in March of last year. Then there was a long pause before excavation and ground work began late last fall. But the five-story, 60-unit Ross Flats is nearly above grade on its prominent little triangular block, just south of the Fremont Bridge.
