Another sign of change in SLU

SEATTLE — One more thing about 601 Dexter Ave. N. As the DJC reported earlier this month, Alexandria Real Estate Equities and architect NBBJ recently had what's likely to be their final design review for a new life-science building. That'll go on the corner of Mercer Street, looking east to Alexandria's Mercer Blocks.

In a sign that a master use permit is near, Copiers Northwest recently removed much of its signage from the old 601 Dexter building, which it sold to Alexandria four years ago for over $28 million. The colorful old building now has broken windows, too, along with fresh graffiti.
