Bartell exits The Ave

SEATTLE — There's been a Bartell Drugs on University Way Northeast for decades. The company sold its corner location at 4344 University, on “The Ave,” 20 years ago — then continued to lease back the retail space. But in recent weeks, the formerly local chain, now owned by Rite Aid, abruptly shuttered that store.

Soon before that, First Western Properties began listing the 7,500 square feet for short-term lease only. The individual brokers are Steve Erickson and Brennan McClurg.
