Capitol Hill hotel conversion to create 183 apartments

Owner PEG hopes to start the project next month.

As the DJC first reported last summer, the new owner of a Homewood Suites by Hilton plans to convert the building to apartments. The city last week issued a SEPA determination of non-significance for the Capitol Hill project at 1011 Pike St., to be known as the Avia Apartments on Pike. Ware Malcomb is the architect for the conversion, which will reconfigure the eight-story building from 195 rooms to 183 apartments.
